COMEDY

Comedy is my first love. I grew up on Python, Fawlty Towers and the great sitcoms of the 70s and 80s: Porridge, M*A*S*H, Cheers. I was drawn to the live comedy boom of the 80s and eventually produced The World of Lee Evans for Granada TV/Channel 4.
Lee introduced me to his writer friend, Martin Trenaman. We started knocking some comedy ideas around one day...and now we've been co-writing comedy for over 20 years.
We've written and developed sitcoms, comedy-dramas, feature films and entertainment shows with the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and a host of independents. We've written for performers like Sean Lock, Bill Bailey, Trinny and Susannah, Reeves and Mortimer, Ruth Jones and Penelope Keith.
BRAVO TWO CHARLIES
Martin and I created and have written four series of our radio sitcom BRAVO TWO CHARLIES for BBC Radio Wales. Set - and recorded - on the roads of North Wales, B2C follows three teams from the North Wales Traffic Police as they deal with druids, superyachts, the market price of asparagus in Beijing, lost kidneys, heartbroken cyclists and their own idiosyncracies.
BRAVO TWO CHARLIES is the most popular comedy series Radio Wales has ever made.
In June 2021, Leopard Pictures produced a TV pilot of Bravo Two Charlies for BBC Wales.

We've also written two episodes of Ruth Jones' STELLA for Sky One; material for BBC2's SHOOTING STARS; the series TRINNY AND SUSANNAH: WHAT THEY DID NEXT, which became a one-off special for Channel 4; BBC3's UP LATE WITH... featuring Mel and Sue, Mark Little, Gina Yashere and Sean Hughes.
We wrote several shows for BBC4, including THE TOYS THAT MADE CHRISTMAS with Robert Webb, THE A-Z OF TOP GEAR, and the GREAT BRITISH... series, narrated by Sean Lock and Mark Benton.
BBC4: THE GREAT BRITISH SUNDAY
I've also written comedy solo, for TV and radio sketch shows such as Radio 4's YES SIR I CAN BOOGIE and BBC Scotland's VELVET SOUP; entertainment formats like MORECAMBE AND WISE IN PIECES with Penelope Keith for BBC Four; and corporate and entertainment clients such as the BRIT AWARDS and BAFTA.
As script editor, I've worked on nearly 50 episodes of CBBC sitcom MILLIE INBETWEEN and teen comedy-drama FLATMATES.
